Following the news from the British Championships.
On Saturday 2nd October Uechi team members Jack Lowe, Jamaal Otto, Robert Camp and Alfie Ambrose who are all England A squad members, had a selection fight off with all other squad members , with the final aim to be chosen to represent England at the European karate Championships in Serbia in February 2011 .
We are very proud to say that all four athletes were successful and will be travelling to these championships to represent England. This is an excellent achievement to have 4 Uechi students (Jamaal from T.Daly’s Dojo and Jack, Robert and Alfie from Dean Lowe’s Dojo) representing England at the same championships
We take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck at the event

British Championships in Edinburgh, Scotland on 11th – 12th September 2010
The inclusion of the squad of Uechi - Ryu cadets was much anticipated after the success of the male cadet team in the English championships earlier on in the year, when the team took gold. The male cadet team : Jack Lowe, Jamaal Otto, Rob Camp, Alfie Ambrose and Joe Denham did not disappoint and continued their domination to lift the gold to become British Champions. This has been an exceptional year for the team after winning the English title in April.

They (fighting at different weights) also picked up medals in their individual events – We now have :
British Champions - Jamaal Otto and Rob Camp,
British Silver medallists - Jack Lowe and Alfie Ambrose
British Bronze Medallist - Joe Denham and Tianee Harvey
(female 12 – 13 yr lightweight).
Kirstie Reid and Elise Williams also competed well but narrowly missed out on the medals, but sure with their work rate continuing, this will change very soon.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself , Terry Daly and Wayne Otto, to thank all the competitors and the parents for contributing to the results at the weekend. Without your hard work and commitment this would not be possible, look forward to many for days like these.
Sensei Dean Lowe
On behlaf of the Association, I'd like to add my thanks and congratulations to all our competitors - Mick Pappas

April 2010
The Team consisted of Jack Lowe, Jamaal Otto and Rob Camp
After going through a number of hard rounds, the team reached the Final . It was a very close match and the teams were one a piece after the first two fights, so the result was decided by the third fighter. Jack Lowe was the third Uechi fighter, and it was very close until the last 20 seconds, when Jack went on to win the fight.

Jamaal Otto
and Rob Camp

Terry Daly and Kuda Adams
The looks on the fighters faces showed how much it meant to them to win Gold and have Uechi Ryu be U16 team English champions.
